Verify Russian Strikes

In a devastating escalation of violence, Russian missile strikes have killed at least eight people and injured over 20 in Ukraine, including casualties from a direct hit on a residential apartment block in the capital city of Kyiv, officials confirmed early Tuesday.
According to Ukrainian emergency services, rescue teams rushed to the scene in the Solomianskyi district after a barrage of missiles struck during the early morning hours. Firefighters battled intense blazes as thick black smoke engulfed the skyline. Authorities reported that a high-rise building was partially destroyed, with several floors reduced to rubble.
“Russia has once again shown its brutality and disregard for civilian lives,” Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said in a statement. “Among the dead are innocent residents who were simply asleep in their homes.”
Ukraine’s air defense systems managed to intercept most of the missiles, but falling debris and direct impacts still caused widespread damage across the city. Several critical infrastructure sites were also targeted, adding to ongoing energy and water shortages in the region.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the attack, calling it “a reminder to the world that Ukraine needs continued military and humanitarian support.” He also urged the international community to impose stricter sanctions on Moscow and accelerate the delivery of advanced defense systems.
This latest attack marks a grim continuation of Russia’s intensified missile campaign targeting urban centers and civilian zones, just as peace talks remain stalled and global attention shifts to other geopolitical crises.
The U.N. and international allies, including NATO officials, have expressed outrage over the civilian casualties and reiterated support for Ukraine’s right to self-defense.
